Welcome to FBC's Children's Ministry

The Children's Ministry at Friendship Baptist Church provides exciting, fun-filled, age-specific events and activities for children. Through this ministry we seek to encourage the mental, spiritual, and emotional growth of your child. From relevant Bible Studies during Children's Church, Junior Church, and through many other events and programs that involve kids and their families in fun, learning, and following Jesus, the Children's Ministry is the place for your child to be!

AWANA

AWANA Cubbies is the AWANA Club for preschoolers during the two years prior to regular kindergarten (usually 3 and 4-year-olds). Cubbies is unique because it supports and maintains the parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing by directly involving them in the teaching and learning process. Cubbies uses fundamental AWANA elements of Bible memorization, books, awards, and activities. Developmentally appropriate lessons and activities combine basic Bible truths with popular preschool concepts of colors, shapes, numbers, and letters.

Sparks is the AWANA Club for lively kindergartners, 1st and 2nd graders. Each club session is divided into three segments. During Green Meadow time, Sparks gather for their Bible lesson. During Sparkle Time, clubbers complete handbook sections. In Game Time, Sparks enjoy games played on the AWANA Game Circle. Sparky, the friendly firefly, appears throughout the Bible-based materials to encourage clubbers to complete their handbook achievements.

Truth & Training AWANA Club is for 3rd-6th grade boys and girls. The T&T theme uses Bible-based materials to lead students into an exciting adventure of the Word of God. The club meeting consists of Council Time, when all clubbers get together for applicable Bible teaching, Handbook Time, when boys and girls meet in small groups to complete their handbook sections, and Game Time, when games are played in the gym including on the AWANA Game Circle.

JV is the AWANA Club for 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. An Olympic theme is used throughout the Bible-based materials. The club meeting consists of Council Time, when all clubbers get together for applicable Bible teaching, Handbook Time, everyone meets to complete their handbook sections, and Game Time, when a variety of games are played both in and outside including on the AWANA Game Circle.

The annual activities of the FBC AWANA Club Ministry that add zest, challenge and fun to the club include:
* Special club night events, scheduled throughout the year - (Water Night, Fall Festival, AWANA Store , Cart Mania, Flashlight Night, Crazy Hat Night, Backwards Night, Giant Night....)
* Saturday morning Neighborhood Visitation twice each year: to invite local children to our club
* Outing in the fall for Sparks and T&T (outdoor activities, roasting hot dogs, s'mores)
* Bible Quizzing (usually in January)
*Grand Prix (home made model) car race in the spring
*Overnight "camp-out for T&T in early May
* Awards Night at the end of the club year

CHILDREN'S CHOIR
Friendship Baptist Children’s Choir is a ministry for children ages 4 to 11 who love to sing. The choir meets every Sunday night from 5:45-6:15 p.m. in the old auditorium. The children sing about once a month in the adult service.
The highlight of the year is the Christmas program performed by the choir on the first Sunday in December. Every child has a speaking part, and there are solos and other small group singing opportunities. If you are seeking a ministry opportunity for your child, Friendship Baptist Children’s Choir might be right for your child.

CHILDREN'S JUNIOR CHURCH
Friendship Baptist Junior Church welcomes boys and girls in grades 1-6. We worship the Lord with singing, Bible stories, object lessons, games, prizes, and missionary offerings, and we have fun doing it.
Two of the most exciting events each year are "Christmas in July" and our autumn "Talent Sunday" with a hot dog lunch. Other surprises are mixed in throughout the year.
It is our desire that the Lord be glorified and that the children know the love of God.

NURSERY
The nursery ministry at Friendship Baptist Church is one of the most important ministries of the church. Our purpose is not only to be a blessing to the children, but also to allow the parents to worship the Lord and know their children are safe and happy.
We have two nurseries in our church;

This nursery is for newborn up to one year old. We have a clean, well maintained room for these babies and our workers are trained and qualified.

This nursery is for children one to two years of age. They are cared for by a loving couple and are allowed many opportunities for play, looking at books and doing simple puzzles.
